Try This Turmeric Recipe for Helping Clear Acne, Psoriasis, and Other Skin Conditions

If you’ve been following my health journey for a while, you probably are well are that I am a supporter and promoter of turmeric!

Many of the articles I write focus on turmeric as an oral medication alternative, but now I want to share the benefits of using turmeric topically! So those of you who don’t love the taste of turmeric, you’re in luck! You can also lather yourself up in turmeric to reap the remarkable health benefits.

Turmeric Topical Ointments

Due to the fact that turmeric is a very potent herb, I suggest testing all of the following topical treatments on a small portion of your skin and monitoring the effects. This will allow you to check for abnormal responses to the herb.

Someone who has eaten turmeric their whole life could even respond differently to topical turmeric!

Turmeric Paste Recipe

¼ cup organic turmeric powder
2 cups filtered water

Put these two ingredients in a saucepan on low heat, or until the mixture has reached a warm-hot temperature. Then put the mixture in a re-sealable container and place in the freezer! Whenever you have need for the turmeric paste, just use about a teaspoon and rub generously over the affected area.

If you want to administer the turmeric over night, then after applying the ointment to the affected area, wrap it in gauze or a very soft, clean cloth and wash off in the morning.

This paste has been proven to help skin conditions such as psoriasis and even mild breakouts! This mixture can be stored in the freezer for about a month without going bad.

Don’t worry if your skin in the troubled area takes on a yellow or orange tint, this is completely normal as turmeric can stain porous surfaces. The coloring on your skin should fade throughout the day.

Turmeric Facial Cleanser

¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
¼ teaspoon neem oil
1-3 drops of lavender oil or coconut oil

Instead of neem oil, you can also use organic, free-range milk, which has natural anti-fungal properties that help prevent breakouts.

Simply mix these ingredients together and pour a quarter-sized dose in your hand every time you want to wash your face.

Be cautious when you use this turmeric facial cleanser because you do not want turmeric in your eyes!

You can also use this paste as a face mask if you have the time. Instead of lathering and rinsing, just wait 20 minutes to rinse and voila, your turmeric face wash has become a dried, pore cleansing facemask!

It’s sort of humorous that corporations take billions of our hard earned dollars for making products that are harmful and toxic, when all we need comes straight from nature! Hopefully these topical turmeric ointments work for you so that you can experiment, tweak and enjoy a life of natural, safe topical treatments!
