I’ve always found it particularly troubling that our culture celebrates and promotes general acts of violence while being extremely squeamish when it comes to the naked human body.
Think about it, movies that actually have guns firing and people dying actually have a safer rating than a movie showing one exposed body part.
It’s time to reevaluate our relationship with our bodies, and there’s no better way to do so than by starting in your bed. Yes, sleeping naked has multiple health benefits that can improve your family’s quality of life.
4 Health Benefits of Sleeping Naked
1. Sometimes All Clothes Offer is Needless Complications
The need for clothes originally comes from our evolutionary drive. What this means is that we only developed clothes to aid our survival in basically any climate on this planet.
The question we need to ask ourselves is how something intrinsically bound to our survival eventually became so intricately bound the superfluous and superficial fashion industry.
I’m all up for expressing yourself through clothing. But if an industry’s marketing approach is to shame different body types into buying an overpriced product most likely produced by either child labor or exploitative labor, it’s time to kick it to the curve.
It’s time to make a stand in your bed and ban this needless complication. An added bonus is that sleeping naked can drastically improve your relationship’s intimacy levels.
2. We Only Put On Stigmas Throughout the Day
Always remember this, fashion is nothing more than a social construct that reflects a time period’s needs and desires. The good news is that most social constructs are easily deconstructed once we realize the true nature.
By embracing nudity in your bed you’re gradually eroding the power both fashion and nudity have over you.
Think about it, if people were more accustomed to seeing naked bodies they wouldn’t lose all sense of self-restraint. Men may actually devote a significantly less amount of time to their fantasies if they were already inured to nudity.
More importantly, by sleeping naked at night, you’re gradually removing the stigma that’s the root of most our society’s shame regarding sexuality.
It’s also the key step in gaining a healthy relationship with your own body.
3. It’s Actually the First Step In Making Your Bed Free of Bacteria
I know, this sounds counterintuitive because clothes were made to actually protect us against external threats.
But trust me, sleeping with clothes can actually bring unexpected guests to your bed. You see, some parasites also evolved to make the most of our clothing. Lyme disease deer ticks and sea lice can now actually snag unto our clothes and find the perfect habitats in your bed where they can feed on you.
Pajamas also drastically raise a man’s testicle temperature, this in turn cause a significant drop in their sperm count and fertility.
Even women are not safe from this because some studies show that clothes can increase women’s chances of developing a UTI or yeast infection.
4. Nudity Can Kill Shame Before It Even Starts
Childhood is the one period in our lives when absorb many of the behaviors and habits that ultimately make part of our identity as adults. Unfortunately, thanks to our popular culture childish and squeamish attitude toward nudity, many children grow up unequipped to deal with intimacy and body image.
Many studies show that children who grow up without nudity being sensationalized actually develop a healthy and respectful relationship with their sexuality and possess a very strong sense of body image and self-esteem.
There you go, when you come to think about it, there’s no real reason for nudity to be as scandalous as popular culture makes it.
