Today, we are so caught in a whirlwind of chemical-laden commercial products designed to make us look healthier and beautiful that we’re avoiding really simple, obvious solutions.
Organic skin care is safer, won’t burn a hole in your pocket, and won’t give you a nasty breakout. Here are some natural ways to purify and beautify your skin.
Drink More Water
You know that you’re suppose to be drinking eight glasses of water a day. You may think this is the brain-dead advice of a health critic that you can afford to ignore. Many of us live our lives with dehydrated bodies and don’t even realize it.
Our thirst is constantly “quenched” with sugary beverages that really only make the problem worse. Water is the best thirst quencher and the easiest way to eliminate harmful toxins from your body. Drinking the right amount of water a day will make your skin smooth, supple and glowing.
Exercise
We sit in our cars on our way to work and we sit at the office for hours. We come home and we’re tired so we sit down and eat and then we go to sleep. Our sedentary lives discourage exercise, and exercise helps to rid your body of harmful toxins and fat.
Exercising will ensure you stay in shape and keep your skin healthy and radiant. When I started going for a 30 minute run every day, I was receiving compliments about how radiant my skin looked, and I wasn’t wearing any makeup!
Improve Your Diet
Changing your diet can really solve a lot of basic problems that we deal with every day i.e. fatigue, sluggishness, productivity, attention span. Plus, oily and fatty foods are horrible for your skin. Acne and other skin ailments can easily disappear with a diet consisting of plenty of vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats.
Moisturize Your Skin
We stretch our skin all the time when we move around, even when we breathe. When our skin is not moisturized, it is more prone to split/crack/break. Use a moisturizer with organic ingredients to retain a youthful glow. Coconut oil is a great, natural moisturizer to use.
Get Rid of Bad Habits
The nicotine in cigarettes can damage your organs, your skin being one of them, and alcohol can dehydrate your skin.
Get Enough Sleep
Aside from drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep is another recommendation that is easily dismissed. If you’re operating on four to five hours of sleep, your body is not getting the time it needs to repair and rejuvenate itself.
Getting eight hours of sleep a day will ensure your body is well rested and will get rid of your puffy eyes.
Exfoliate Your Skin Once A Week
It is important to do this once a week to really clean out the dirt that gets lodged in our pores. There are mild exfoliates for everyday use as well. Again, choose an exfoliate with organic ingredients.
Finally, if you would like to wear makeup, go for the organic kind to avoid harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin.
