Key Lime Cheesecake Bites

Key Lime Cheesecake Bites
I’m always on the search for more paleo-friendly dessert recipes. Lucky for me (and hopefully you), the Key Lime Cheesecake Bites recipe below fits my dietary and health needs perfectly!

These healthy Key Lime Cheesecake Bites are gluten-free, grain-free, and dairy-free. Talk about hitting the sweets jackpot! Plus, the blend of ingredients listed below gives these bites a plethora of health benefits.

1st Key Lime Cheesecake Benefit: Anti-Inflammatory

This recipe uses half a cup of raw almonds. Almonds are well known for their anti-inflammatory properties. They’re also a great source of vitamin E and magnesium, which both help fight inflammation.

Coconut oil and raw honey also have anti-inflammatory effects. Many applaud honey for its healing properties and studies have shown that consuming as little as one tablespoon of honey can help reduce swelling.

2nd Key Lime Cheesecake Benefit: Aids with Weight Loss

Coconut oil is also composed of medium chain fatty acids, a type of saturated fat. These healthy fats are converted into energy, rather than stored as fat in our bodies. Thus, a diet that incorporates coconut oil can increase your energy expenditure and, in turn, lead to weight loss over time.

3rd Key Lime Cheesecake: Improves Brain health

In addition to almonds, this recipe is also high in cashews. Nuts and seeds are praised for their ability to fight cognitive decline and boost brain health.

Nuts are rich in vitamin E. This essential nutrient possesses antioxidant properties that protect your body from the damaging effects of free radicals. Free radicals have been found to cause oxidative stress in the brain which is linked to Alzheimer’s disease.

4th Key Lime Cheesecake Benefit: Produces Collagen

Cashews are also a rich source of copper which plays a role in the production of collagen. Collagen is an essential protein that provides strength and structure to our hair, skin, nails and muscles.
