I used to really struggle with my eyelashes in the past. Before big events, I’d fuss over my eyelashes making sure they looked long but natural. Finding that balance isn’t exactly easy when the two most popular options are mascara and fake eyelashes. It got to the point that it was common for my eyelashes to dry and fall out.
It’s terribly unhealthy for your eyelashes, but there’s a natural solution that not only works to repair your eyelashes but also encourage them to grow thicker! What’s this secret recipe? If you’ve been living a healthy holistic life, you may already have this superfood in your cabinets!
Coconut Oil for Eyelashes
If you’ve been following Healthy Holistic Living, you’ll know that we’re big fans of coconut oil. There are just way too many uses for this healthy fat. Coconut oil has a use for just about every part of your daily life. Perhaps you’ve already heard about how great coconut oil is on your hair, or perhaps you’ve used it to treat acne. But have you ever thought of using it on your eyelashes?
Applying coconut oil to your eyelashes reduces fall out, moisturizes your lashes, and promotes thicker growth. It achieves this through its unique combination of fatty acids which are essential for every cell in the body. That includes the cells your hair follicle. Coconut oil stimulates stronger hair growth in your follicles. This goes for the hair on your head and on your eyes! What’s great is that coconut oil is quickly absorbed into the skin and won’t clog your pores.
When shopping for coconut oil for your serum, make sure to get a small container (this recipe doesn’t require a whole lot) of liquid coconut oil. You may find this in stores as “Fractionated coconut oil”. This type of coconut oil has one of its key fats, lauric acid, removed to keep it from solidifying. As oily as it looks, it can be used on the skin without leaving you feeling greasy. Stop damaging your eyelashes, try this all-natural coconut oil serum instead!
