10 powerful ways vinegar can be used to clean your entire house

Vinegar is one of my go-to products for just about every DYI or cleaning issue in my house. We buy it by the case! It unclogs toilets, cleans windows, gets rid of odors and eats away mineral build up what ‘s not to love.

10 Household Uses for Vinegar

1. Cleaning out the Refrigerator

Yuck there is nothing worse than opening the fridge and being hit with a mystery odor strong enough to make you gag. To get rid of fridge odors just fill a bowl with vinegar and wipe down the entire fridge. That’s it.

2. Deodorizing Litter Boxes

After you clean it out completely, give it a swish with white vinegar. I won’t go into the details. You wouldn’t want that.

3. Cleaning the Dishwasher

If you have hard water, this is especially necessary. Just pour a cup into the bottom of the dishwasher, then run it (on empty) to get rid of any build-up. You should do this monthly to keep your dishwasher clean and running properly.

4. Unclog the Shower Head

Again, if you have hard water, you’ll need to do this. If possible, screw off the shower head and place it in a basin filled with vinegar. If you can’t, try this trick fill a small bag with vinegar and tie it around the showerhead.(1)

5. Drain or Garbage Disposal

Pour in 1 cup baking soda, then one cup hot vinegar. Let sit for 5 minutes. Run hot water down the drain. (Note: some garbage disposals do not react well to this cleaning method check all manufacturer instructions first.)

6. Lunch Box Odor

Place inside a slice of bread that has been soaked in vinegar and leave overnight to remove odors.

7. Toilets

Pour in a cup or more of vinegar and let it sit several hours or overnight. Scrub well with the toilet brush and flush.(2)”

8. Mineral Build Up

Remove mineral build up by soaking faucet filters in a bowl of vinegar.

9. Cleans Burnt Pots and Pans

Did you burn your dinner again? No problem take 1/2 cup baking soda and sprinkle it in the pan now slowly pour 1/2 cup vinegar into the pan, careful it can easily turn into a volcano experiment so go slow. Let sit for 1/2 hour then clean as usual.
