He wrote a book in 2008 called Psychological Aikido, where he provides a list of key life tips people should implement in their day to day lives. The following are highlights of some of the best and most important advice he gives out in his book “Psychological Aikido:

1. When a man cannot say anything good about himself, and want to say something, he will start speaking bad about others

It’s normal to feel hurt if an acquaintance or a bully says something hurtful to you. However, it’s important to not let it consume you because it was never about you in the first place.

2. If you believe you are a good person, do you need someone else to think that about you?

In more cases than none, people garner their self-esteem from what other people think about them. This as a result can go one of two ways which is that it might either make them feel good or make them feel bad. Hence, for the purpose of long-term happiness, it’s important to respect and love ourselves.

3. The signs of spiritual maturity are the ability to love and the ability to handle loneliness. We are doing the best things when we are alone.

We humans have a bad habit of constantly comparing ourselves to others. When we start believing that others might have better lives then us, we isolate ourselves and feel lonely. It’s important to stick through it and have positive thoughts because how can we handle the good things in our lives when we have trouble handling the bad.

4. There is no masculine or feminine logic. There is only ability or inability to think rightly.

Whenever something does either go according to plan go the expected rout, there is a tendency to place blame on things because of factors like religion, community and gender etc. However, it is important to understand that the ability to have common sense or make smart decisions has no loyalty to anyone or anything.

5. Do you only want to know who is your biggest enemy? Look in the mirror. Defeat him and others will flee.

There are numerous obstacles that approach you in life. However, the one obstacle that comes out of nowhere and proves to be the most difficult to overcome is ourselves. We can be our own worst enemy because we always second guess ourselves and do not trust our instincts. Once we can overcome our own self-doubts, then we can easily handle external forces.

6. I don’t know the road to success. But I know the road to unsuccessfulness- it is the desire to be liked by everyone.

If you live your life constantly trying to tip-toe around people, then you will end up becoming a servant to others. However, if you just take each day as it comes and live life the way you want to without worrying about how other people will react, then you will attract admiration.

7. Don’t chase happiness and you will find a happy place. I can tell you the place where happiness is – it’s in you. The road to happiness is the maximal development of all your abilities.

Anytime you run after something, you are more than likely to come up empty-handed. However, if you just continue doing what you usually do, then happiness and success will come hand in hand.

8. Achieve success – all the insults will pass.

The best revenge is to work hard and prove to your doubters that your limitations don’t define you.

9. An immature person often knows, but cannot do it. A mature person not only knows, but does it. Therefore, an immature person criticizes and a mature one just does.

Instead of wasting energy trying to convince someone about your point of view, take action and prove your worth.

Take a literal page out of Mikhail Litvak’s book and implement some of this advice into your daily lives!
