Wrap Up Your Workouts With A Hydrating Smoothie

workout smoothieYour daily workout regimen must use up a lot of your energy throughout the day. This is normal and quite good for you, but you need to replenish those nutrients to ensure the best results. Many people work hard to stay in shape but forget the most important thing, you must feed your body the appropriate things to be able to continue to improve your health.

Replenish according to your routine

Everybody has their own way of replenishing their bodies. It depends on how intense your workouts are. If you are a long distance runner then your body expends carbs in the form of glycogen and fatty acids. If this is the case you must aim to replenish your body with 20% fat, 20% protein, and 60% carbs. This will ensure that your body is well prepared for those strenuous low intensity workouts. If you are used to a much more intense routine then maybe you should replenish with 20% fat, 25% protein, with 55% carbs. In addition eating more carbs will help rebuild your muscles. With that in mind you must remember the importance of keeping hydrated, not only during but also before and after workouts. This is extremely important to your performance. Anyone who has experienced dehydration can agree to this observation. You can put together a delicious smoothie for your postworkout routine. This is going to help you tremendously. But there is a stigma attached to postworkout smoothies. This stigma circulates around the horrible taste people experience when they try to replenish their bodies.

Smoothie heaven, for the workout junky

Check out this YouTube video that will tell you how to make a nutritious postworkout smoothie! I assure you that this smoothie is going to be delicious, so delicious you’ll be making it everyday. Nonstarchy carbohydrates like sweat potatoes will help replenish your muscles, and not to mention they taste delicious. There are multiple sources of protein within this smoothie, most notably the chia seeds and flaked almonds. These go great with your smoothie, and give it that little kick you’ll notice. Ingredients like these are great for high intensity workouts. Other ingredients like the oranges and lemons provide vitamin C. Although these are not sporty nutrients they are good for health. They help build your immune system, which is very important to being able to work out regularly. Lastly, the coconut water is very important to your hydration. It is delicious and very good for you; in fact you can drink as much of it as you want. But everything is better in moderation, so don’t over do it. Smoothies like this are essential for feeling great and looking better. Most people pay no attention to them but I’m here to assure you that you’ll notice a difference. End your everyday workout with a delicious smoothie, and not just and smoothie, a smoothie you can be proud of. Make them yourself, so you know exactly what is going into them. Don’t let high priced nutrition counters trick you out of your money anymore. It’s in your hands now so do what you want with it. Have some fun!
