The Runaway Protein That Causes Cancer

When your doctor says “cancer,” you may not be able to hear anything else. That diagnosis can feel scary and overwhelming, making it hard to focus on information.

Once you get home and you’ve had some time to digest your diagnosis, you may jump on the Internet to start finding out more about your condition. That’s one of the smartest things you can do… as long as you get your information from a credible, reliable source.

Because the more you know about your cancer, the better your chances of overcoming your challenge and healing. When you understand what’s going on in your body, you can address it head on. That will include targeting a runaway protein called galectin-3, cancer’s best friend and ally – and the worst enemy of your health and survival.

How Cancer Happens

We talk about cancer like it’s one disease, but it’s not. Different types of cancer behave differently. Some cause noticeable symptoms early on, for example, and other types grow unnoticed for years. Some cancers grow quickly, while others develop more slowly.

Cancer can start anywhere in your body, and where it starts dictates what kind of cancer it is. For example, cancer that starts in your breast is considered breast cancer. It can also spread to other places in your body, but that doesn’t change the origin of your cancer. So breast cancer that spreads to your liver is still breast cancer (not liver cancer).

All cancers start at the cellular level. Unlike infections – where an outside germ enters your body and makes you sick – cancer cells start out as regular, healthy cells.

How does one healthy cell transform into cancer? Normally when a cell gets damaged, it dies. Sometimes, though, a damaged cell doesn’t die. It just keeps doing what regular cells do – making copies of itself. And because the original cell was damaged, all of the copies will be damaged too. Those damaged cells keep multiplying, band together, and start to crowd out healthy cells. That’s how cancer develops and tumors form.

But in order for cancer to get that far, it relies on that runaway protein galectin-3. Research shows that galectin-3 is a key cause of all kinds of cancer. And blocking galectin-3 offers a chance for preventing and treating cancer successfully.

12 Different Cancers Caused by Galectin-3

No matter what kind of cancer you’re dealing with, it probably involves galectin-3. Medical researchers keep discovering connections between the runaway protein and cancer development and outcomes.

At least a dozen different cancers have been linked directly to galectin-3, including:

  1. Leukemia
  2. Breast
  3. Gynecological, such as cervical and ovarian
  4. Prostate
  5. Colon
  6. Lymphoma
  7. Lung
  8. Kidney
  9. Liver
  10. Bladder
  11. Bone
  12. Brain

Scientists will probably discover that practically every type of cancer involves galectin-3. That’s because this protein sets off a cascade of cancer-causing events that make it virtually impossible for your body to protect itself without targeted support.

4 Ways Galectin-3 Causes Cancer

Cancer starts with damaged cells that don’t follow the normal cellular rules: Instead of dying off and leaving the body like they’re supposed to, they stick around and multiply. Galectin-3 contributes to the original cell damage… and then also helps those damaged cells stay alive when they shouldn’t be.

Galectin-3 causes cancer through four disease-promoting actions: ,

  • Inflammation. Inflammation signals cells to grow and multiply faster, an action that’s meant for repairing injuries. Galectin-3 sparks inflammation that sends that same message to cancer cells, so they continue to grow and multiply out of control.
  • Oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes damage to healthy cells, the kind of damage that can lead to the cell mutations present in cancer. Normally, your body produces antioxidants or pulls them from your diet to keep oxidative stress under control. Galectin-3 interferes with your body’s response to oxidative stress, increasing the damage to your cells.
  • Fibrosis. Fibrosis refers to the production of special connective tissue to mend injuries. When fibrosis keeps going when there’s no injury to fix, thick scar tissue develops. When that happens internally, it damages tissues and organs, which can fuel cancer growth and progression.  Galectin-3 activates fibrosis and keeps it from turning off, leading to the development of several cancers.
  • Immune suppression. Immune suppression means your body’s natural defenses against cancer get blocked, giving cancer the chance to grow uncontrolled. Galectin-3 shields cancer

cells against immune system detection and prevents immune cells from effectively targeting and eliminating cancer cells.

But galectin-3 doesn’t stop with causing cancer. Galectin-3 also helps cancer grow and survive…

How Galectin-3 Supports and Protects Cancer

Your body has ways to get rid of damaged cells so they can’t turn into cancer. But galectin-3 interferes by acting like a cancer bodyguard, keeping damaged cells alive so they can grow and spread. Galectin-3 plays a part in many cancer processes, including:

  • Proliferation, the sped-up division and replication of cancer cells
  • Angiogenesis, the development of new blood vessels that deliver supplies (like nutrients) to tumors
  • Apoptosis resistance, where cancer cells ignore the pre-programmed cell death (called apoptosis) normally used to kill off damaged cells
  • Tumor formation and progression, how cancer cells begin to clump together and then grow as a unit
  • Metastasis, where cancer cells spread to other areas of the body and invade healthy tissues and organs
  • Immune evasion, which allows cancer cells to hide from the immune system

You can see all the ways that galectin-3 fuels cancer development and growth. And by blocking galectin-3, you can disrupt the protection it offers to cancer… and finally truly defeat cancer.

Modified Citrus Pectin Naturally Blocks Galectin-3 to Fight Cancer

When it comes to blocking galectin-3, you want the most effective and only natural option: Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP). This potent cancer-fighter starts with citrus pith, the white part between the peel and the fruit, and amplifies its healing powers.

In its natural state, citrus pectin molecules are too large to affect your health down to the cellular level. By modifying citrus pith with a complex patented process, the pectin gets transformed into much smaller, low-weight molecules that can be easily absorbed by the body.  And when modified citrus pectin gets to work, it can influence your cellular health and protect you from the dangers of circulating galectin-3.

MCP binds to galectin-3, effectively shutting it down. By blocking galectin-3, MCP stops the inflammation, fibrosis, and oxidative stress that promote cancer. At the same time, MCP supports immune function in critical ways, including activating special cells – NK and T cells – that can specifically target and kill cancer.

Another way MCP helps you defeat cancer: It helps conventional treatments like chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy work better by increasing their effectiveness. That allows for better results, and possibly lower doses of those harsh treatments, which reduces their toxic side effects.

And there’s a huge stack of science backing up MCP’s ability to block galectin-3 and fight cancer.

Research Highlights Modified Citrus Pectin’s Cancer-Fighting Powers

Scientists have been studying the healing actions of MCP for decades, with overwhelmingly positive results. From lab studies to animal research to human clinical trials, they’ve uncovered exactly how MCP can be your most powerful ally in the fight against cancer.

With so many published studies on MCP, it’s impossible to include them all. Here’s what you need to know about how MCP stops galectin-3 and improves cancer treatment and outcomes. MCP has been proven to help fight cancer by:

  • increasing NK cell activation by 1,000% and increasing their fighting strength by 54%
  • inhibiting tumor growth by blocking galectin-3
  • promoting programmed cell death (apoptosis) in cancer cells and preventing metastasis
  • increasing cancer cell sensitivity to radiotherapy, allowing for a reduced clinical dose
  • enhancing the ability of chemotherapy to kill deadly ovarian cancer cells
  • working synergistically with other botanical compounds to stop the invasive behavior of breast and prostate cancer cells

By successfully blocking galectin-3, Modified Citrus Pectin substantially improves your chance of defeating cancer… and thriving through the process.
