How’s your diet going? Are you counting the calories you have everyday? Noticed much of a result? Well, if you haven’t been making as much progress as possible there could be some flaws to your routine. Many people believe that counting calories is all that must be done to ensure the best possible diet.
The truth lies within the foods you think are helping you. It’s not enough to count calories, you also have to understand what’s inside the foods you eat everyday. Making sure you are eating healthy snacks to lose as much weight as possible so you can lose belly fat and trim your waistline.
Story time
Let me tell you a little story. A study was conducted between 2 groups of people who had high LDL or bad cholesterol levels. Each group was given a healthy diet for 12 weeks total. The first group was given a healthy snack to incorporate into their diets, 1.5-ounce portion of almonds. The other group was given a carbohydrate-rich muffin. The only difference in their diets was the snack that was implemented.
After 6 weeks each group would switch the snacks, so the first group would now eat the muffins and the second the almonds. The study then showed that when the 2 groups snacked on almonds their cholesterol level and LDL were both reduced. Almonds also raised their HDL cholesterol, which is good cholesterol. Eating the muffins produced the opposite results.
Perhaps the most interesting part was that although each snack consisted of roughly the same amount of calories the almonds were more beneficial. In fact when eating the almonds belly fat and waist size decreased in both groups.
So, with these results in hand, researchers were able to determine that almonds may actually be the most healthy nut available to people. This just goes to show you the importance of choosing the right snacks when you are dieting.
Make the right choices
Picking the wrong snacks could actually cause more problems for your health. There is much more to dieting than exercise and eating well. You must do the research and understand what you are doing to your body.
Consuming quality calories is the best way to put this for the average person. Calories are not all the same. Some may cause problems, and others will do you good. You must be able to tell a good snack from a bad snack.
This study goes to show you that there are other ways, and other foods, that can actually speed up your progress naturally. Almonds contain nutrients that can improve cardiovascular functions in your body.
There are many other health benefits from eating almonds, most of which are not well known by people like you and me. Almonds are also very good for your memory, and have a number of different internal benefits. So keep that in mind next time you’re going to shop for a healthy snack. Don’t forget!
It is important that you not only retain this information but also implement it into your lifestyle. You will be sure to see results faster than you think. With the increased awareness for snacks like almonds we hope that more people will do what they can to incorporate them into their diets.
