Let’s face it, these days many of us could use a little comic relief. Enter Pluto, the adorable pupper with important messages for “the two-leggeds”. She’s sensing some trouble and she thinks she may be able to help. On her YouTube channel, she has a few different videos, offering tips on how to get through the COVID-19 scare. Everything from how to handle the toilet paper crisis to what to do in the event of your own snack crisis, are covered.
Pluto To Earth: Keep Your Nose To Yourself
Included in one recent dispatch is a plea that we not sniff each other’s crotches until after this whole thing is over. You know, she has a point. You can check out the whole video here:
Pluto The Influencer
In another recent video, she is excited to learn that she is an influencer of the “socials” and thus has a duty to speak out about the pandemic. She goes on to say much of what the news has been trying to get through to us… to just stay home. People can be asymptomatic carriers and infect others, which is where a lot of the danger lies. Coronavirus is particularly rough on the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. So the more of us who can stay out of public spaces, the better. Here’s Pluto’s video where she implores us to be kind and just stay home:
Her most recent video is hilarious. She has become aware of just how vast the internet truly is, and she is humbled that we have chosen her as our leader. In addition, she is thrilled with all the hand washing that’s been happening but we need to sanitize our “letter bars”. Again, she’s not wrong:
Light Perspectives Welcome
It’s refreshing to have new perspectives beginning to emerge! The last several weeks have been a deluge of sobering information and scary predictions. Alarming figures and the vast unknown have become quite a heavy load to bear for many people. The sad thing is that the best you can do is sanitize and try to stay out of harm’s way. Take the advice of the World Health Organization and other governing bodies, and just stay home.
But the media frenzy being what it is, means there is hardly a moment to breathe between broadcast messages about what feels like the end of the world. Safety precautions do need to be taken, and this information really does need to be talked about all the time right now. That’s one reason why the light tone of these videos is so welcome. The things we need to do are constantly being trumpeted from all sides right now, but here’s a disarming little doggo that’s saying the same thing in a way that people actually want to hear. Though there is a healthy bit of silliness in there too, that’s half the point. Let someone else handle the heavy business, Pluto’s all about keeping it breezy! Hanging out with her tennis ball and trolling the local schoolyard for snacks.
