Your Organic Produce Will Not Be Organic For Long

The booming organic food industry faces a very serious problem. Millions and millions of people have realized over the years that organic food, although more expensive, is much better for their health and their children. Well, big biotech companies like Monsanto don’t seem to bat an eye when they contaminate local organic crops.

Now you can imagine the problem this is causing organic farmers. They work long and hard spending ridiculous amounts of money to protect their crops, and a simple gust of wind ruins their profits. This is because biotech farmers have been contaminating organic crops for years. The cross contamination process is ruining organic food for everyone.

They’re ruining our health

Cross-pollination has become the biggest problem for organic farmers. They do all they can to protect their crops just to have everything ruined by GMO pesticides that have been flooding their farms. It also seems that there is nothing they can do about this.

Despite trying to purchase land far away from biotech farms, the organic farmers have very little they can do about this issue. It seems that the law and big corporations are on the side of biotech farmers.

There hasn’t been much support for organic food, especially within the industry. Another problem is that with the cross contamination organic farmers cannot sell their product. They just sit back and watch their money blow away in the wind, along with the contaminated pollen that is ruining their crops.

The demand is there

Whole Foods has since stated that they are finding it hard to find enough organic product to sell to their customers. This just goes to show you that the massive demand for organic food is alive and well. It’s just that biotech companies like Monsanto are turning their backs to the health and safety of the customer.

Organic farmers just can’t seem to keep up with the corruption that is flooding the market. After all it’s all about money, but even that is hard to believe because the demand for organic foods is huge. The amount of money there is to be made is simply being ignored.

The organic food industry is expected to become a $35-millon dollar industry. That is not to mention that this industry will only get bigger, and more lucrative. But lets get back to the bigger issue here, above money, and above all else.

Something has to be done

Biotech farmers are poisoning our crops, and no one is doing anything about it. Sure we talk and hope for change but the reality of the situation is that biotech companies are doing what they can to keep their pockets fat. That includes keeping everyone in the dark with regards to this issue.

Until these farmers have the backing of major corporations, just as powerful as companies like Monsanto, they will have a difficult time competing. Something must be done or else this problem is going to spiral out of control.

Society must look out for their best interest, which lies in the hands of organic farmers.
