You probably guessed from its name, but one pan dinners are meals made by baking or broiling all the ingredients on just one baking sheet altogether. It’s a similar concept to slow-cooker meals and one-pot dinners in that the food preparation is really straightforward, but one-pan dinners give you a chance to play with different textures of food that slow cooker meals can’t.

The best one pan dinners are made up of a mixture of vegetables like sweet potato, green beans, or tomatoes, and one or two sources of protein like chicken breast, eggs, or chick peas. The great thing about them, though, is that you can use whatever you have in your fridge!

Prepare your veggies ahead of time. Just wash and chop up enough for the next few days, and store them in the fridge. When you’re ready to cook, take your pick of veggie combination, and throw them on the baking sheet.

You can also prepare an entire pan (or two) ahead of time. That way, when you get home from a long day, you can take the pan out the fridge, and pop it right into the oven. It couldn’t get any easier than that! This is your healthy answer to those frozen dinners. They might have been tempting as a time-saver, but they’re expensive, high in sodium, sugar, and processed foods, and they don’t even taste that great.
