Anyone who is tired, constipated or has low iron needs to try this easy beet juice recipe

nutritious beet juice

Green juices are all the rage right now, but want to know a little secret? It doesn’t matter if your juice is green, blue, red, yellow, or orange, only as long as it’s colorful!

You know what I mean by colorful right? The rich, vibrant tones of nature! Not the synthetic, artificially created neon color of an energy drink or popsicle.

Today my favorite color is RED because I’ve discovered an absolutely scrumptious, nutritious beet juice recipe that helps with my arthritis pain!

Nutritious Beet Juice Recipe

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 3 leaves of organic Lacianto Kale or “Dinosaur Kale” (I prefer this type of kale because it’s much easier to digest. Want to learn why kale is so good for you?).
  • 1 peeled organic lemon
  • ½ – 1 inch peeled ginger root
  • ½ of a large cucumber
  • 1 organic apple peeled and pitted (Choose your favorite apple flavor!)
  • 1 organic beet

Equipment:

  • Juicer!

Here are some other delicious juice recipes for you juicing fanatics!

Remember to wash all of your ingredients, even if you buy organic! It’s always smart to scrub your vegetables to eliminate any germs or bacteria that they could have picked up from shipping and handling!

The size of your vegetable pieces will depend on the strength of your juicer. I have a pretty powerful juicer with a couple juicing options on it, but when I juice beets I always make sure they’re in very small pieces. The other ingredients in this juice recipe are pretty soft for the most part, so your juicer shouldn’t have any problems.

This juice recipe will give you a LOT of nutrients and if your body isn’t used to that yet, start off by sharing this recipe with a friend every time you make it! Give the other half to your husband, girlfriend, or your teenage daughter or son (who probably aren’t getting enough vegetables!).

Why beets steal the show…

The deep, rich red of this root vegetable is more than just eye candy! Beets are one of the most nutritious root vegetables at your grocery store and they’re incredibly versatile!

Beets are an excellent source of calcium, vitamin A and C, Iron, and fiber! In just 100g of beets, there are only 43 calories and 10 carbohydrates, 2 grams of protein, 0 grams of fat, and 3 grams of fiber! Great things really do come in small packages!

Beets are also very high in antioxidant enzymes, which contribute to the overall function of your body’s natural processes, including digestion. The high fiber content can help you avoid constipation and the high iron content is excellent for those of you who are anemic.

Beets can also be used in salads, stir-fries, noodle, and rice bowls (remember to avoid the GMO variants), or as a simple side! The possibilities are endless with beets because they have such a unique taste. Depending on the ingredients you pair them with, you can put beets in savory and sweet recipes!

I don’t know all the beet options, but one thing I know for sure is that I always have beets in my fridge!
