Your answer is smoothies. Or to be precise, smoothies packing an extra caffeine punch with one of these amazing smoothie boosters.

The best part of this is that you’ll be able to feel completely energized without dreading the inevitable caffeine crash that usually comes with coffee.

3 Essential Smoothie Boosters

1. Maca Powder

I bet you’re probably wondering what this is. Maca is a super-fruit that hails from Peru. Indigenous communities have long used this fruit to help treat and increase their energy levels, endurance, and even their libido.

This makes the powder almost perfect to survive the deep winter blues some of you may be dealing with as you’re reading this.

An additional benefit is that Maca also helps your bones and red blood cells by packing a significant amount of calcium and iron.

Oh, and did I mention that Maca can increase your body’s serotonin levels naturally? This is why this amazing powder is at the top of my list.

If you’re curious to know how it tastes, most people describe its flavor to be nutty, sweet, and with a little touch of butterscotch.

2. Cacao Powder

As you may have already guessed, yes this is the same cacao used as the primary ingredient in chocolate. If you already love dark chocolate, you’re probably more than familiarized with its taste. For the uninitiated, cacao powder tastes a like bitter chocolate.

Ok, so besides being the key ingredient to one of the addictive treats in the world what does cacao powder bring to the table?

Let’s start with some general details. Cacao powder brings an incredible amount of theobromine, phenethylamine, and antioxidants to help keep you running throughout the entire day.

Best of all, it’s one of the essential foods you need to get the necessary dose of magnesium you need to keep healthy bones.

To top things off, cacao powder is also one of the key foods to help improve the function of your pineal gland, one of the cornerstones of your endocrine system.

3. Matcha Green Tea

I know, it sounds a bit too similar to Maca, but trust me; it certainly has its own well-earned reputation.

Originating from Japan, this high-grade green tea has traditionally been the go-to ingredient to relieve stress and boost your metabolism.

Additionally, its high amount of catechins, chlorophyll, and antioxidants make it an amazing anti-cancer fighter.

If you’re not a fan of how green tea tastes like, don’t worry. Matcha green tea is intensely sweet and its flavor is further enhanced by its high amino acid profile.

But let’s get to why this is in my list.

Packing roughly seventy milligrams of caffeine per teaspoon, Matcha tea will definitely give your smoothie a kick early in the morning. Best of all, its L-theanine will help you avoid the caffeine crash that coffee normally brings.

If you’re particularly sensitive to caffeine, I recommend using no more than one third of a teaspoon when you’re adding this to your smoothies.

Recommended Doses

I recommend trying out which of these boosters combines best with your favorite smoothie recipe. Try going for three teaspoons of each per smoothie serving. Aim for the best taste and results.
