Missing Boy Found Wandering St. Louis Streets With Protective Stray Pit Bull By His Side.

In a seemingly wondrous set of circumstances, a missing boy was reunited with his family on Oct 1st, 2020, in the Baden area of St. Louis. United effort was the key to this perfect neighborhood story.

The lost toddler was returned after efforts from a determined woman and a courageous stray dog took place in human and canine harmony. The special events have sparked positive vibes throughout the community, with emphasis been placed on getting back to caring, societal support, and old-fashioned, trusting community love.

Neighbors In Trusting Powers

The female neighbor who was out walking her own dogs at 8am that morning wishes to remain anonymous, but spoke to Fox News about her first encounter with the toddler, named as Kh’amorian Taylor. To her he seemed lost, but very content to be walking alongside a stray animal. The protective canine appeared to be constantly accompanying the child and looking out for him. “He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have any shoes on,” she told Fox reporters. (1)

The heroic lady pounded the pavement for hours, knocking on doors, asking neighbors if they knew the missing boy. When nobody recognized him she didn’t give up. Posts were put on social media, and Kh’amorian’s father was eventually alerted to the situation. He rushed to see his son who was overjoyed to see him, whilst little Kh’amorian was elated to describe his new companion as simply “puppy.” The uncynical attitude of the child delighted everyone involved in his safe and victorious return.

Pitbull Breed History And Study

The Bull Terrier dog originally came from the British Isles when two types of dogs, terriers, and bulldogs were bred together. They were often used in bloodsports like bull-baiting, badger-baiting, dog fights, and of course were very useful as guard-dogs due to their large size and muscular frame. (2) They later arrived in the United States and by the late nineteenth century became known as the American Pitbull Terrier and recognized by the United Kennel Club and The American Dog Breeders Association. The American Kennel Club, however, does not recognize the breed even to this day. (3)
Often receiving bad press, many countries have banned pitbull-type dogs and several US states have made them rather unwelcome. (4) Although no evidence can be found, defenders of the breed often refer to Pitbull Terriers as nanny dogs and claim they were a fantastic family pet used to look after and protect children. Studies have also found that pitbull types are not disproportionately dangerous. (5) As most responsible dog owners know, it is best practice never to leave any dog alone with a child.

Missing Boy’s Best Friend

It is still unknown how the missing boy managed to escape from his home and be spotted walking around in his pajamas, barefoot with such a large, yet seemingly passive dog. Children instinctively know those who may take care of them, and on this day the toddler did good. The champion canine is now being considered for adoption by an officer from the St. Louis Police Department, so he/she may soon get a new loving home. A reward worthy to this missing boy’s best friend.
