Stoners across North America might find their dream job getting paid to smoke marijuana. What? Yep. American Marijuana, an online medical marijuana resource is looking for a cannabis product reviewer and they’re willing to pay pretty good money for it. (1)
Marijuana Reviewer For $36,000
The legitimate position pays up to $36,000 per year. The job requires the reviewer to film video reviews after testing American Marijuana’s products. They will also have to write a blog, which as a writer I’d like to think will really narrow down the running. (1)
Marijuana Video Reviews
Each month the reviewer receives an assortment of weed strains, vapes, edibles, and CBD oils. They then try them out and share their opinions on the product via video and a series of blogs. Customers can get an idea of the effectiveness of the products while learning more about what to expect and how the product works. (1)
Work From Home Marijuana Reviewer
Of course, this is a work from home position, which is a good idea considering we wouldn’t want this reviewer driving home in rush hour traffic. Depending on the knowledge the incumbent brings to the position they could earn up to $3,000 a month. Not bad for sitting around getting high. This is not a job for the local stoner, however. This is a job that requires a person with “extensive knowledge of marijuana” according to American Marijuana. (1)
Marijuana Company Founder
The company owner, Steven Kubby, is alive and well 25 years after a diagnosis with a fatal form of adrenal cancer. At the age of 23, his adrenal cancer spread, but he has lived to tell the tale. As a result, his illness and the positive impact smoking marijuana had on his health played a role in the drafting and passage of California Proposition 215. (1)

Marijuana: The Gateway Drug
Despite this fact, former Vice President Joe Biden dubs marijuana the “gateway drug“. He feels legalized marijuana on a federal level would be a big no-no. “The truth of the matter is, there’s not nearly been enough evidence that has been acquired as to whether or not it is a gateway drug,” he told Business Insider. “It’s a debate, and I want a lot more before I legalize it nationally. I want to make sure we know a lot more about the science behind it.” (2)
Six Marijuana Slang Terms
American Marijuana requested applicants either send in a headshot or one-minute video talking about the position in hand with a resume, social media links, and most interesting of all, six slang words for marijuana. Some of my favorites: Devil’s Lettuce, da kine, Aunt Mary, green goddess, Mary Jane, and Christmas tree. (1, 3)
Marijuana Business
The timing for the position comes following the loss of over 900 jobs in the cannabis industry recently. This also comes on the heels of marijuana stocks losing 50% of its value since January 2018. It’s high time some real job opportunities popped up for people with a solid cannabis background. (4)
