You’ve got to hand it to the coronavirus pandemic: It certainly has forced many of us to get creative. The threat of COVID-19 has locked us down and tied some of our hands in some really tough knots, where time and money are concerned. We’ve been required to adapt quickly, and really think on our feet to continue thriving though many have lost our job or client base. It’s been a tough several months.
I think we could all use a margarita or three.
Local Margarita Truck To The Rescue
In San Antonio Texas, a restaurant called La Gloria is doing what it takes to continue thriving. Have you ever seen those memes, joking about how we need margarita trucks just like the kids have ice cream trucks? Well, that concept has been made real. San Antonio, say hello to your new best friend. La Gloria’s got wheels now.
The concept is so wonderfully simple. A cross between a food truck and a mobile bar, it takes everything that locals love about La Gloria and brings it right to their doorstep. With safety and social distancing in mind, of course! La Gloria’s margarita truck offers people a much-needed sense of normalcy, while still keeping everyone safe. Let’s face it… a couple of the toughest things about spending so much time in self-quarantine, are eating our own cooking day in and day out, and not seeing our friends as much as we would like. We love restaurants, and we love familiar faces.
This way the folks at La Gloria can keep their fans in fresh margaritas and tacos, keep their business chugging along, and maintain their connection with the community too.
Dine-In Or Delivery By Margarita Truck
La Gloria actually re-opened for dine-in service after the initial lockdown, on May 1. But, many across the nation, not just in San Antonio, are choosing to sit it out for a while longer. “Our Margarita Trucks are another fun and creative way to adapt to the ever-changing business landscape,” Chef Johnny Hernandez said in a press release. “Today, safety is top of mind for everyone, and many of our customers are simply not ready to dine out; however, we know that doesn’t mean they don’t crave one of our famous margaritas.”
So now, you can get single margaritas delivered, or upgrade to a package and really get this party started right. Food must be purchased with drinks, which is pretty typical of a lot of restaurants, and since the minimum order is $40, you might as well chow down on some tacos too! Oh, and you’re not just limited to margaritas, though they do have four different kinds on offer (Classic House Margarita, Blue, Prickly Pear, and Mango). All of La Gloria’s most famous fan favorite cocktails are on the menu too, so check out the Los Pepinos Cucumber VodkaRita, the Las Fresas Margarita, and the classic Jack and Coke.
Not in the mood for tacos? Well lucky for you they’re also offering a variety of snacks like street corn, chips and salsa, and queso… which pairs perfectly with Jack and Coke… we have done the research on that.
