I have to confess I’m a cat person. For several years we had a stray cat who would give birth to a new litter of kittens in our backyard every spring. Although we never found exactly where the kittens were born, once the weather warmed up we would look out to find kittens traveling all around our property. By the time we would try to round the little cuties up, mom would have collected them and disappeared. I worried like crazy about those kittens, but after a few years, mom and her new brood stopped coming around. For French couple Céline and Daniel, their discovery was on a much smaller scale. When they heard cries coming from the side of the road, they stopped to investigate and were surprised to discover a distressed kitten. (1)
Gaining The Kitten’s Trust
The couple, who hails from central Brittany, France, were out cycling and immediately tried to help the kitten. Unfortunately, she was too hard to reach. The kitten was clearly afraid, crying out loudly for attention. Céline was not willing to give up, so she lay on the ground to help make the kitten feel more trusting. She talked to her softly until the kitten finally realized she didn’t pose a threat. The kitten promptly climbed up on Céline’s shoulder and seemed intent this is where she would stay.
Stashed Kitten
Céline and Daniel decided they would take the little furball home as she made it quite clear she was now their’s. Their next challenge was getting her home. With nothing more than their bikes, they were concerned about the kitty’s safety. They decided they had to risk finding a safe place to hide her so they could come back and get her with their car.
Kitten Rescue
The couple sped home on their bikes hoping their new furry friend would not have strayed from the safe spot. When they arrived, they were relieved to see the kitten came out to greet them when she heard them approach.
Kitten Home Sweet Home
Once home, Céline and Daniel knew it was love at first sight and adopted her on the spot. The kitten, who they named Mini Kitty, joins their family that already includes a daughter, a cat, and dog. The siblings are all enjoying the new addition.
Mini Kitty was happy to be safe and enjoyed eating and sleeping in her new home. This helped her regain her strength. To show her appreciation, she rewarded her new family with plenty of loving. She loves to cuddle providing the family with a snuggly, purring friend for life.
Kitten On My Shoulder
One of her favorite spots to spend time is Daniel’s shoulder. She also likes to snuggle with their daughter who adores her tiny friend. Although they say cats and dogs don’t get along, no one told Mini Kitty this. She spends plenty of time with the family pup.
Mini Kitty is most content when surrounded by family, but she also has a fondness for her favorite stuffed toy, Piglet.
Although Mini Kitty survived the wilds on her own, she can purr a sigh of relief now that she’s found her forever home.
