What if I told you… that Keanu Reeves now has a girlfriend?

That’s right, internet. We thought he was our boyfriend, but he wasn’t. We thought he was really into us. But it turns out the gorgeous and chronically-single star of the Hollywood big screen has in fact been dating visual artist Alexandra Grant… some say for years.

As anyone with a life in the spotlight knows, it’s hard to do or say anything without it being scrutinized by everyone. So when Keanu, who has been demonstrably single for upwards of 10 years now, turned up in public holding hands with Alexandra, it caught some attention. The two were spotted at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in LA on November 4th, 2019, and Life & Style wasted no time calling them out. But people close to the couple say they’ve already been together for quite a while. (1)

Unless your name is Alexandra Grant, it’s likely you’re as shocked as we are that a romance with Keanu is no longer an option for us. Hey Girl, at least we got Liam Hemsworth back (sorry, Miley).

As you might expect, Ms. Grant is gorgeous, talented, and accomplished. As a visual artist, she explores the use of text and language in various media and has collaborated with some famous names over the years. 

As a young child, she spent a lot of time abroad and this gave her a different perspective on some of the bigger questions in life. Questions asking how our own familiarities such as language and imagery can change our world view… and perhaps limit it. And how visual artists can gain appreciation in such a tech-driven landscape. Right?! She’s deep, soulful, and we kind of love her for him. 

I mean…only if we can’t have him.

Nice Guy Gets The Prize

It’s no secret that Keanu is the fantasy daydream material of people everywhere. He has an approachable way about him, despite his status as a mega Hollywood star. Best known for his roles in the Speed and Matrix franchises, he was actually a successful star well before then. Remember Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure? Yes, he’s been around for a while. (3)

Perhaps his longevity has something to do with his cordial nature. We feel like we know him. Some of us even feel like we grew up with him. Over the years, with the rise of social media and celebrity culture, it gets a little too up close and personal sometimes. It’s long been a thing we all know: Keanu’s single. So we made him ours. He’s handsome, and sweet, and famous to boot. He’s the whole package, and he’s been a wonderful internet boyfriend. 

He’s been a good sport, with all the memes and the callouts over the years. We’ve always meant it in good fun. It’s that affable way of his, and the healthy boundaries he’s set too. Although we know (or think we know) that he’s been single a long time, there isn’t much more that we know about him. It seems he doesn’t mind taking his time to find a great fit, and he doesn’t even seem to mind if we all insist on watching and swooning.

Honestly, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, and Alexandra seems like a great partner in crime for him. See? This is why we love him. Even in the midst of breaking up, we’re still so excited to see where the future takes him. What life hands him next.
