Juice Pulp Uses

Juice Pulp UsesJuicing has become a popular new trend with many people, especially younger folks, but it’s beneficial for everyone! It’s a great way to get the nutrients of many different fruits and vegetables all at once – not to mention it tastes great. There are even plenty of stores that only sell fresh, pressed juices.

But if you’ve ever juiced at home, you know that one of the by-products from juicing is the pulp that’s left over. When you juice fruits or vegetables, you’re always left with that mass of crushed food that most people just throw away.

As great as juice is for you, one of the main properties in fruit and vegetables is it’s fiber. Fiber is important for our bodies as it helps us maintain regular digestion, and if you’re looking to lose weight, eating low calorie high fiber foods go a great deal in helping you achieve your goals.

But fear not! There’s is no need for that pulp to go to waste. Here are 7 easy and creative ways you can include that pulp into your diet and never miss out on nutrients again. You really can have your juice, and eat it too!

Juice Pulp Uses

Bone Broth

By now I’m sure you’ve heard of the benefits of bone broth. If not, you’re missing out! Bone broth is full of nutrients, and so easy to make! You can add a whole lot of flavor – without the calories – by adding in the pulp of your vegetable juice. Cook it in a little bit of extra virgin olive oil in the pot before making your broth and fill it with your favorite veggie flavors!

This wouldn’t work as great with fruit pulp, but don’t worry I have ideas for that too!

Scrambled Eggs

You can also add your veggie pulp to scrambled eggs! When I make it, it’s like a cheats version of a frittata. The veggie pulp is really easy to incorporate into the eggs, just make sure you break it up when adding it so you get a nice, even distribution of veggies in your morning eggs!

Smoothies

Store your fruit pulp in the fridge or freezer and add it to your next smoothie! It gives your smoothie a nice, creamy consistency – almost like a milkshake but without the dairy! Using fruit pulp in your smoothie not only gives it a boost of flavor, but it also adds extra fiber turning that smoothie into a filling meal replacement or snack.

Add It To Dip

I love dipping my veggies into hummus or guacamole – two of my favorite dips. But I started to add my vegetable pulp to them and I have to tell you, it’s amazing. I get a double dose of veggies when I use vegetables to dip, and even when I’m treating myself to some crackers or pita bread, I still get the veggie goodness!

Baked Goods

Next time you whip up a batch of healthy muffins, try adding your leftover fruit pulp. We’ve talked about how the pulp adds extra fiber, but by using fruit pulp in your baking, you can cut the amount of fat in half! Your muffins will still be moist, delicious, and have less calories!

Freeze It

I’ve told you how you can store fruit pulp in your freezer, but what about making it into ice? That’s right – fruit cubes! Add your fruit pulp ice cubes to water and get a refreshing flavored water, for free and without the harmful additives of conventional flavored waters.

Fruit Crackers

You can even turn your fruit pulp into an easy, tasty, guilt-free snack. These juice pulp crackers are packed with antioxidants and nutrients that do a body good, and you can eat as many as you like!
