If you have chipmunks in your neighborhood you know they can be quite entertaining. My husband loves our local chipmunks and feeds them peanuts every day. Moving faster than the speed of light, fighting with their fellow chipmunks, chattering loudly when they miss out on feeding time, they provide hours of entertainment. My cat Boo gives the chipmunk show a two paws up. However, for one Atlanta-based food writer, a little chipmunk became her savior. (1)
Food Writer’s Restaurant For Chipmunk
Like millions of others, Angela Hansberger found herself without work thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. As a food writer when restaurants closed, she lost her livelihood with nothing to write about. However, one day the appearance of a little chipmunk made things better. (1)
Looking for a way to keep her mind occupied, Hansberger eyed a chipmunk outside her door and decided to start feeding him. However, her menu didn’t consist of peanuts and seeds like my husband’s lunch of the day. Instead, she relied on her research and food expertise, creating a new and exciting menu every day. (1)
Restaurant For Chipmunk’s Garden Fresh Menu
Her garden became her grocery store and with her encyclopedic knowledge of fine dining, she became a five-star chipmunk chef. Serving her exclusive guest, aptly named Thelonious Munk, she opened a restaurant on her front porch. (1)
With a special table reserved just for him, Thelonious chows down on a long list of chipmunk inspired delicacies including veggie pizza with a side salad, imitation sushi with walnut wontons, or spaghetti with date meatballs complete with almond flour breadsticks. Sounds like vegan heaven served up fancy-like to a grateful chipmunk. (1)
Restaurant For Chipmunk Table For One
Going to great lengths to create new meals for Thelonious every day has provided solace to someone suffering from anxiety. “I was facing a lot of anxiety. I kind of hid it,” says Hansberger. “Gosh, I’m crying. I was really sad for all the people in the industry that I worked with.” (1)
Today, she feels joy as she serves her little guest, getting creative not only with her menu, but even how she serves it. For example, her mini breadsticks come in a tiny thimble. She serves the little critter at a homemade chipmunk sized picnic table. Very Disney don’t you think? (1)
Restaurant For Chipmunk Brings Joy
Trust me, she sees the silliness of the whole thing. She could barely explain how challenging making little tortillas was before she broke down laughing. But that’s the point of it all. The joy. “It’s brought joy. I have more videos of this chipmunk than I have of my children. It’s bad,” she says. But really it is the opposite of bad. It is good. In fact, it’s wonderful. (1)
Satisfied Customer At Restaurant For Chipmunk
As for Thelonious, while he might know the why behind the daily treat, he certainly gets the idea. He appears in seconds once she lays out his table. He fills up on today’s special, then takes the rest away in his cheeks. God’s little doggie bags. (1)
As for Thelonious, it appears he appreciates the service. “One day he came up with this little, tiny bundle – wadded up leaves – and put it on the table. So, I take it to mean he brought a tip.”
