We all have that friend who is constantly on their phone no matter what else is going on or who is talking. Some of us even have multiple of these friends, making it difficult to get anything done let alone have a full on conversation! We’ve heard it said that social media is taking over the globe, as no one wants to put their phones down and will instead scroll through feeds for hours at a time. What’s a person to do to get a little honest attention? Well, little Alisa had just the idea.
Phone Goes Overboard Thanks To Four-Year-Old
Let’s be honest: when it comes to conversation, there’s nothing quite as insulting as trying to have it with someone who is far more engrossed in their cell phone than absolutely anything else. Tearing their eyes away from their phone screen, actually putting their device down, and ignoring its obnoxious alerts seems to be such an impossibility for many people. Growing impatient in this type of scenario is entirely understandable, as Russian rapper Timati’s daughter clearly shows!
After several more or less failed attempts at gaining her father’s attention, four-year-old Alisa appeared to be fuming as he continued talking on his phone while lounging on a yacht in Saint-Tropez, on the French Riviera. Rather than pausing to listen to his daughter, Timati simple offered her a few words and then went back to his phone call. Alisa, apparently fed up with this system, snatched his phone right from his hand, stormed up to the boat rail, and launched the device overboard with a big splash.
Both Alisa and Timati seemed caught in a little bit of disbelief at her actions until the reality of the situation sank in. The rapper peered at his daughter in shock, then leaped up and grabbed the rail, staring into the water as though in search of his phone which certainly was sinking towards the bottom.
Since posting, the video went viral, reaching nearly 5.7 million views after Timati publically shared it with his 12.3 million Instagram followers. Hopefully, he has found humor in the occurrence, though many fans have revealed a mixture of opinions! Some of the video’s viewers openly blame Alisa’s parents and their parenting style, accusing them of raising their child to be disrespectful, while others are unimpressed, claiming that the clip was entirely staged.
According to one viewer, “This child is out of order. Timati is the one to blame for her bringing her up this way. Let him now enjoy the results.” Another simply stated, “What a hysterical monster,” while yet another questioned, “Seriously, why the cheap staged video?!”
Put Down The Phone – Engage With The Present
No matter Timati’s parenting style or whether or not the video was actually staged, the entire ordeal brings up an interesting topic that is so relevant to people today. While sassy Alisa’s actions might be somewhat shocking, isn’t that how we all feel inside when we’re trying to have a conversation with someone who refuses to get off their phone? Wouldn’t we all somewhat enjoy getting the attention we’ve been waiting for so long, even if it meant taking their phone and throwing it somewhere else (maybe not into the ocean, but across the room)?
I, for one, would certainly consider it.
