Since embarking on this journey to improve our health by adopting healthier diets and active lifestyles, I always like to keep an eye out for traditional recipes that could be invaluable to your health.
Traditional recipes are inherently valuable; they’re passed on solely on the love from parents to children. Meaning they’re more likely focused on preserving health of loved ones instead of making a profit.
Since it’s the dead of winter for some of you, I believe this homemade garlic soup is just the right thing to help keep you warm.
DIY Traditional Czech Garlic Soup
Here’s what you’ll need:
Garnish:
– 1 clove of minced raw garlic
– 1 teaspoon of freshly chopped parsley
Croutons:
– 1 slice of organic whole-grain bread chopped into cubes
– ½ a teaspoon of pink Himalayan sea salt
– ½ a teaspoon of oregano
– ½ a teaspoon of black pepper
– ½ a teaspoon of organic garlic powder
– 1 tablespoon of organic olive oil.
Soup:
– 1 tablespoon of organic butter
– 2 cups of organic chicken or vegetable broth
– ½ of an onion (you need to dice it)
– 1 organic yellow potato (diced as well)
– 4 cloves of minced garlic
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Let’s start by preparing the garnish. Simply chop and mince the ingredient and place them aside in a bowl.
- As for the croutons; start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Then it’s a simple matter of lining a baking sheet with the bread cubes and drizzling them with the oil and condiments.
- Now for the soup; place a saucepan at medium heat. Begin by sautéing the onions in the butter until they’re soft (say 10 minutes). Add the cloves of garlic and sauté for another 3 minutes.
- Then stir in the broth and increase the temperature to a soft boil. Add the potato slices and let them cook for a while.
- Serve by adding both the croutons and the garnish.
Why is it amazing?
Garlic is a powerful ingredient to have both in your kitchen and medicine kit because it’s an amazing antiviral herb that attacks bacterial infections without destroying your intestinal bacteria.
It’s also the perfect ingredient to fight the symptoms of hypertension because it can reduce high blood pressure and dangerous cholesterol levels.
Potatoes on the other hand, besides being delicious addition to this recipe, are amongst the best super foods to help keep your hair healthy and strong.
Additionally they pack the most nutritional for your hard earned dollars.
I always replace traditional sea salt with pink Himalayan salt because it packs all the taste without the health costs of regular salt.
Pink Himalayan salt can potentially help your bone health, blood pressure, digestion, bone health, and water retention thanks to its amazingly high mineral contents.
I hope you enjoy this delicious soup, it’s also the perfect thing help bring up your temperature if you’ve been trekking in the winter wasteland that’s covered some cities.
