There is nothing more delicious than fruit. It is basically nature’s candy. However, with the delicious flavors, and abundance of vitamins and nutrients that fruits bring to the table, comes a very dark side. For every juicy and scrumptious fruit you might inadvertently leave on the counter (or any other open area) comes a giant swarm of nature’s most dreaded pest, fruit flies.
What follows below is a how to guide to making the most effective and natural fruit fly exterminating concoction ever.
How Did They Get In?
Fruit flies might not sting or bite, but there is no doubt that their mere presence is often more than enough to make you want to pack your bags and move to a climate that won’t support such annoying life. Although, no matter your disdain for their existence, one has to admit their curiosity as to how these pest get into your home in the first place.
Well the answer is a bit simpler then one might expect. There are two ways fruit flies usually enter an individual’s home. Fruit flies usually enter in on the containers or protective layers of fruits. Fruit flies usually multiply quite quickly as they mature in age rapidly. Fruit flies can also enter your home through open windows and doors.
Your first line of defense against a fruit fly invasion should always be to quickly clean your fruits off with warm water. Not only does this get rid of lingering pest such as fruit flies, it can also clear off any chemicals that may have been sprayed onto your fruits.
Keep Aged Fruits Out Of Your Home
.
Another quick preventative remedy to your fruit fly problem is to simply keep aging fruit out of your home. When fruit ages fruit flies are attracted to the rotting food source which helps sustain them. Alongside fruits, vegetables and other food sources should be kept in an area where they are less likely to experience the decaying process.
The Repellent.
This fruit fly repellent recipe is effective and simple to make. All you will need is a large bowl and a few household cooking ingredients. First, fill the large bowl with about two or three cups of warm or room temperature water. For best results let this solution sit in and open area, or in the area where your decaying fruit used to be, after removing the decaying fruit from your home of course.
