I’d be lying if I said I’ve never gotten a pedicure before. Honestly, a good day at the spa is hard to beat. It’s relaxing, your feet get pampered, and you end up feeling like a million bucks.

But sadly, no one has the time or the money to go to the spa every week and sometimes your feet need more than just the occasional day at the spa. That’s where these DIY foot scrubs come in.

They’re all cheap and easy to make, mostly with common ingredients you might have lying around the house anyway. They can help soothe and heal dry skin and cracked heels. They won’t quite be the full on spa treatment, but if you light some candles and get cozy, they’re pretty close.

10 DIY Foot Scrub and Soak Recipes

Mint and Tea Tree Oil Scrub

This scrub is fresh and simple. Just mix together two tablespoons of olive oil with a few drops of peppermint and tea tree oil in a bowl. Then apply the scrub your feet, massaging gently.

The oils are great cracked heels and dry skin. You can also add a handful of sea salt for exfoliation, though it may sting a little if you do have cracked heels.

Salt and Baking Soda Scrub or Soak

These ingredients are great for both scrubs and soaks. For a scrub, mix a handful of salt and three tablespoons of baking soda with some olive oil. Then scrub your feet with the paste.

For a soak, use equal parts baking soda and salt. Mix them in a basin, or bucket big enough for your feet, with warm water. A little rose water always makes a great addition because of the lovely aroma. Soak your feet for 20 minutes or so.

Brown Sugar Exfoliator

This scrub is about as easy as it gets. Just mix a tablespoon of olive oil with a little brown sugar. The sugar is great for scrubbing away dead skin cells, while the olive oil nourishes the skin. You can even add a little baking soda to help remove dirt and whiten your skin.

In fact, this scrub is so easy you can use it quickly before a shower and not just on your feet, but your knees and elbows too!

Lemon Juice and Powdered Tea Scrub

This one is great for helping improve circulation to your feet, while the vitamin C nourishes your skin. All you need is a basin or bucket of some kind to put your feet in. Then, pour in some warm water, squeeze in half a lemon, and throw in half a cup of powdered tea. Some orange slices also make a great addition. Then let your feet soak for about half an hour.

Rosemary and Rose Petal Scrub

This fresh and fragrant scrub combines rosemary, rose petals, sugar, and sesame oil. Simply pound the rosemary and rose petals together until a rough texture is formed. Then add half a cup of sugar and some sesame oil to form a paste. You can use the scrub on your feet and on your face.

Epsom Salts and Honey Soak

For this soak you’ll need a cup of raw, organic honey, a cup of Epsom salts, and a few drops of camphor oil. Simply add all ingredients into a basin with warm water and soak your feet for about 20 minutes.

Listerine Soak

This is a great foot soak for cracked heels, exfoliating, and removing grime. All you need is a basin, some warm water, and three caps of Listerine.

Simply soak your feet for 20 minutes or so, and pull out rejuvenated footsies! Good as new.

Perfect Pineapple Scrub

To make this tropical scrub, start with half a cup of chopped pineapple and blend it using a food processor for 5 seconds or so. It should be crushed well. Add the crushed pineapple into a bowl and mix in a tablespoon of organic yogurt and half a cup of sugar.

Let the mixture sit for a couple hours and then scrub it on your feet. The pineapple smell is delightful and it nourishes your feet!

Coconut Tropical Scrub

Mix three tablespoons of pure coconut oil with half a cup of salt and a few drops of essential oil and you’ve got a great scrub for dry, cracked feet. Simply scrub it over your feet and then rinse with lukewarm water. It also keeps well in a mason jar, if you want to make a bigger batch and store it for a couple months.

Strawberry and Sugar Delight

I usually prefer to eat my strawberries, but if you have a couple extra lying around, you can mix them with some sugar and olive oil to make a delightful smelling foot scrub. Simply puree three strawberries with your blender and then stir in half a cup of sugar and a tablespoon of olive oil.

Then scrub away! You can also use it as a facial scrub.
