Costco Is Selling Cauliflower Linguine That Has 2.5 Servings Of Veggies, But Tastes Like Pasta

Veggie pasta has become a staple for carb-cutters in recent years. For those who miss Italian dishes while trying to avoid gluten and grains, there are a variety of alternatives available. While up until now chickpea, lentil, and spiralized vegetable pastas have dominated the market, a new player is coming on the scene. Gluten-free pasta company Taste Republic is now offering cauliflower linguine–and you can get it at Costco.

Cauliflower Veggie Pasta Is The Real Deal

While gluten-free pasta has been around for some time, its carb count rarely works with low-carb diets. For example, one popular pasta brand’s gluten-free pasta packs a whopping 44 grams of carbs and only 1 gram of fiber. Those carbs come from corn and other grains that tend to be harder on the gut; they also have a greater impact on blood sugar. Consequently, gluten-free pasta isn’t always compatible with paleo, keto, and low-carb diets.

Taste Republic’s cauliflower linguine, on the other hand, is both gluten and grain-free. The combination of cauliflower, potato, and tapioca starch are low-glycemic–meaning blood sugar levels won’t be spiked. Because all carbohydrates are not treated equally by the body, it’s important to consider the ingredients and not just the number of carbs. Added fiber, protein, vitamins, and 2 1/2 servings of veggies in this pasta make it a healthy alternative. (1)

Costco Fans Are Raving

To get the word out to low-carb pasta lovers, Taste Republic partnered with Costco to offer the line in their warehouses. In stores across California and Nevada, shoppers can buy 16-ounce dual packs of the veggie pasta for just $9.89. The company plans to expand the availability to stores in Colorado and Arizona. (2)

For those that either don’t have access to Costco or haven’t seen the pasta in their store, Taste Republic offers the linguine online. A 6-pack of this fresh veggie pasta will set you back $49.99, though each pack has 3 servings. That works out to only $2.50 per serving, a small price to pay for a fresh, healthy base for your Italian meals. It can also be frozen to spread out the deliciousness and make it last.

Additionally, preparation for this pasta is ridiculously easy. The linguine cooks in a pot of boiling water for 2-3 minutes, depending on the desired texture. After that, simply toss with the sauce of your choice and enjoy! (1)

Keeping It Saucy

Linguine is a long, flat noodle similar to fettuccine. Taste Republic’s veggie pasta can be substituted in any traditional pasta recipe like normal; simply adjust ingredients to suit your taste and dietary plan. Cream sauces and seafood are popular pairings, though linguine really can go with anything.

There are a plethora of great sauces to toss your cauliflower pasta in. For a fresh, light vibe, try spring vegetables (like peas or asparagus) combined with a smooth, light cream sauce. Continue with the cauliflower theme and go for a garlic-parmesan sauce with tender cauliflower florets mixed in. Creamy tomato sauce or classic marinara will also not disappoint.

Regardless of how you choose to toss your noodles, you won’t have to feel guilty satisfying your pasta cravings when you choose this veggie option!
