Bees Trained to Make Honey With Weed

weed and honey, honey and weed

Someone trained their bees to use marijuana resin as the pollen source, and now Cannahoney is a real thing. What a time to be alive!

This mind-blowing contribution to humanity involves three very special things:

Weed: As you are probably already aware, cannabis has long been used in a variety of therapeutic applications. These days more than 60 organizations support immediate, legal access to it. (1) Marijuana is regarded by many as serious medicine.

Honey: This too, is known for its medicinal value. In fact, “Medihoney” is an FDA approved product made with Manuka honey, a special kind of honey used to speed healing of wounds. (2) Honey, like marijuana, is widely viewed to be medicinal.

Magic Maker: Nicolas Trainerbees is a French beekeeper, pioneering the honey marijuana landscape. His brilliant mind and out-of-the-box thinking are bringing these two glorious things together in one terrific product that everyone is definitely going to want.

Magical Marijuana Honey

Nicolas has always been on the cutting edge, trying new things in his beekeeping operation. For example, several years back he was able to train his bees to use fruit instead of flowers, demonstrating a knack for beekeeping that drew some attention.

Those with their thinking caps on, wondered if he could focus his bee training powers on medical marijuana, and the rest is history. He now has 30 hives working their magic. What’s really neat about this (well, one of the really neat things about this), is that it can be done with any strain of marijuana. So as we move into the future and the process is further refined, the end product’s potency and color can be manipulated. It’s also a 100% natural cannabis “edible”… quite possibly the only one in the world right now! (3)

Now in his 40s, Nicolas has a long history of cannabis use and is an outspoken supporter. At around age 7, his hyperactivity began causing problems in school. Before he was 10 years old he was using it to manage his days. (3) If he hadn’t figured out that cannabis could help him channel his hyperactivity, who knows what his life would look like today.

You might be wondering if there are any ill effects on the bees – and the short answer is “no”. The longer answer, from Nicolas himself, is “The bees that produce the cannahoney are not affected by cannabinoids because they do not have an endocannabinoid system”. (4) In other words, in order for cannabis to have any effect on you, your body has to have the equipment to “understand” it. The bee body has no such equipment, so there is simply no effect on them.

Delicious Healing

At this time, testing remains to be done in order to determine the honey’s exact nutritional and therapeutic properties. But with over 17,000 followers on Facebook, he’s certainly got the attention of a lot of people. (5) Bringing these two natural healers together, honey and cannabis, is exciting for the world of medical marijuana. It opens doors to new ideas and studies and gives more options to patients who so dearly need the medicine.

Sure, this honey’s a little funny but Nicolas thinks you’re really going to love it.
