What is Inflammation?
Inflammation is your body’s natural response to any foreign objects or infections. It’s the part of your immune system heavy hitters and it’s the way your body tries to remove dangerous elements to begin the healing process.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s an infection, it only implies that there is something, be it bacteria or virus, that needs to be taken care of.
In the right amount, inflammation is just another example of the wisdom of the human body.
It let’s us know something is not right and that we should either take immediate action with the proper homemade remedies or, if it’s really serious, to seek out medical attention.
When Does it Become an Issue?
But if you’re reading this, you’re most likely concerned when inflammation goes haywire and begins acting for no apparent reason. Worst of all, in all too common cases, there are times when unnecessary inflammation only exacerbates the situation by causing even more inflammation.
Which normally leaves us in a seemingly never-ending mess of pain, confusion, and lack of mobility caused by stiffened joints.
What Not to Do
An additional side effect is that it also causes us to crave for short-term solutions like strong anti-inflammatory painkillers.
These have their own sets of risk like an increased chance to develop serious cardiovascular complications like strokes and cause severe damage to your digestive system in the form ulcers or by causing your stomach lining to bleed.
Regardless, I still understand how the temptation caused by inflammatory chronic pain can lead you straight into the habit of using these harmful medications.
But don’t despair! By adopting a holistic lifestyle and diet you can potentially prevent unnecessary inflammation flare-ups.
Here’s an anti-inflammatory recipe to get you started:
Homemade Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie:
Here’s what you’ll need:
– 1 compressed cup of organic kale.
– 1 cup of organic raspberries.
– 2 inches of fresh organic ginger.
– 1 tablespoon of organic unrefined organic coconut oil.
– 1 teaspoon of organic chia seeds.
– 1 and ½ cups of cooled green tea water.
– Add raw organic honey to sweeten the deal.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
Give yourself enough time to prep your green tea and let it cool down in your fridge. Then it’s simply a matter of placing your raspberries, kale, ginger, and coconut in your blender.
Mix thoroughly, and then add the cooled green tea.
Here’s Why it’s So Effective
Raspberries are an amazing natural source of antioxidants and are also packed with polyphenol compounds; both of these make raspberries particularly powerful at reducing your overall inflammation levels.
Kale is jammed with most of the essential minerals your body needs. Best of all it has magnesium and vitamin E, which have been linked to reduce inflammation and possibly prevent it.
Oh, did I mention they’re also loaded with antioxidants?
Ginger, on the other hand, has up to 10 uses to boost your health, second amongst them is helping you fight inflammation.
Coconut oil has a decent amount of lauric acid, a natural anti-inflammatory agent.
And I can’t stop talking about how everyone needs raw organic honey in his or her kitchen.
